We did it! We finally made new throw pillows! You can't even imagine the torture I've been through since we got our couches more than a year ago with throw pillows that didn't go with the room. Torture! I tell you! Yesterday Jake and I were both feeling rather productive yesterday (Saturday) so I suggested we finally make throw pillows and because we didn't have a sewing machine I would hand sew them. He agreed so we headed to Joanns (because Roberts abandoned us good loyal crafters of Cedar City.) We got some cute fabric and as we wandered the aisles I could see Jake getting into the project too. I love it when he gets into my projects because that means he'll wanna help and then my project will turn out more amazing than I could've done on my own. In our wanderings we came upon some iron on adhesive which made me remember a tutorial I saw on All Things Thrifty that involved making no sew pillows with iron on adhesive. I told Jake this and I also told him that tutorial disappeared which I interpreted as "It didn't work that great." But Jake said, "Let's try it, We have nothing to lose and it will be way easier." We did it! And our pillows are so cute! I even made some fabric flowers out of the scraps we had to put on some other pillows.
Before The Makeover
They were ok pillows. But our room colors are Red, Blue, Antique White, Brown, and Black. We have old newspapers and pictures, the bold geometric designs were in a word Clashers.
After
I heart them
