The BIG TWO!!!!
On Dax's actual bday we went and played at the man made lake which was a BLAST!(Thought I took pictures but now I can't find them....) and then we had a spur of the moment partay! We ate pizZA! Opened some presents, ate some cupcakes, and watch a movie! It was the perfect recipe for our 2 year old.

PizZA!!!!! At The Pie
For Dax's b day we tried to involve things and people that he loved. One of those things is PizZA! And he says it exactly like that pizZA! It has got to be one of the cutest things in the world.
To commemorate this enthusiasm towards the edible circle we ate at The Pie

This Fountain was right next to The Pie. In the winter they turn it into a ice skating rink. Found out when we were leaving that there is no wading...Oops!
We had so much fun visiting with everyone and Dax and EVEN more fun playing with everyone and the water! Thanks to all who celebrated with us!

Dax loves animals so we thought we would go to Hogle Zoo while we were up North as part of his b-day extravaganza!

Dax is 2!
2 years ago today at 10:03 am we met this little bundle of joy for the first time.
At that moment we became parents and our lives were changed forever.
Happy Bday Dax! It's gonna be a fun one!
(and Momma will be takin LOTS of pictures so we can make some memories)

30, Flirty, and Thriving
jake, birthdayHahah the title for this post comes from the movie 13 going on 30 in which the main character wishes she was 30, Flirty, and Thriving which is now Jake!
We had just a little bday for Jake this year because his real birthday celebration is Costa Rica. Dax also had a fever on and off all day and the weather didn't really cooperate but WE STILL HAD FUN!!!!
Jake turned 30 today and he celebrated it by getting up early and swimming laps at the pool. We also went out to lunch then for dinner we had artichokes(Jake's fav) and steak which turned out delish.
Nicole suprised him with 30 balloons, 30 cupcakes, 30 little army guys, 30 pencils, 30 pieces of gum and so on. Jake only got to see 29 ballons because Dax bit one and it popped, I don't blame him though, our car was FULL of balloons and they kept drifting over to Dax. The one balloon was just bugging him too much, it had to die.
Here are some reasons why turning 30 Rocks!
You get to check a new age group box on forms.
You get to say, “I remember when I was in my 20s”.
It is a milestone birthday.
It is more exciting to say “I am 30″ than “I am 29 or 31″
You get 10 years to prepare for turning 40.
You have great experiences from my past and so now I get to add new ones!
You can celebrate BIG for this birthday.
You have years to get use to being called sir.
When you get carded it is a compliment instead of them not thinking I am old enough.
All the life lessons you learned in your 20s, now apply to your life.
Don’t have to worry about being 30 because you just ARE
Get to read all the self help books about surviving your 30’s and nod in agreement with them.
A major birthday like 30 means better presents!
Its been said that 40 is the new 30 and 30 is the new 20.
People naturally take you more seriously when you are in your 30s.
You get to smile when people can not believe you are 30.
No longer have to struggle to be an adult because you have years of practice.
5 more years and you can be president.
Instead of stressing about acne,you can stress about wrinkles and white hair.
You don't have to wait for Santa to bring you anything, you can go out and get it yourself
Turning 30 makes you appreciate your 20’s and look forward to your 40s.
There is only on option to not turning 30, that is death. I say, “Welcome 30!”
Jake's personal favorite is that his age has finally caught up with his hairline
Dax picked this HUGE card out for Jake that played the Star Wars theme song, it's awesome!
