Lake Powell '10

Lake Powell was amazing this year! Lots of activeness and at the same time a lot of relaxation.
Our crew this year was a lot smaller compared to years previous but still was a blast.

We hiked up Hole in the Rock

Roger Dodger

We ate Cheetos with Gpa Roger

We set up an obstacle course while the houseboat was going. You would jump off the houseboat(with a life jacket) swim back to one of the boats, your last chance is the tube in the back. Then you use the ropes to come back to the houseboat. It is wicked hard.

We Wakeboarded, Swam, Kneeboarded, Tubed, and new this year Wake Skating

We made fire using a hand drill
and got blisters from making fire with a hand drill

We played with Uncle Rob

We drove the boat

Went to Dangling Rope and Fed the fishes ice cream and toes

We drove through a lightning thunder storm coming back from Dangling Rope which was pretty scary fun and saw some awesome waterfalls and rainbows

We hiked through some narrows at West Canyon and those pics are on gma Stacy's waterproof camera so those pics will go here.

Everybody took a night to make dinner and on our night we made kabobs. We had all the fixins set out raw and they all put their own together and then Jake cooked them up on the bbq!

Then on our last night we had a Pot Luck. Jake and I brought bisquits to be cooked on an open fire. They turned out awesome.

We also got to stay up and watch a meteor shower!
Beautiful!

Dax had a blast! Loved to be outside throwing dirt!
Can't wait for next year only 364 days away right?!?!

Timp Hike

Mount Timpanogos is the second highest mountain in Utah's Wasatch Range (second to Mount Nebo). Timpanogos rises to an elevation of 11,749 feet (3,582 m) above sea level in the Uinta National Forest (now part of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest). With 5,269 feet of topographic prominence, Timpanogos is the 47th-most prominent mountain in the contiguous United States

It's 14-18 miles round trip. Depending on where you look it up and who you talk to.

Jake's Dad (for part of the hike), Krissi, Austin, Jake, Dax, and I hiked to the tippy top of  Mt. Timpanogas
Was a perfect day to go and it was all my idea too! Shocker I know! But Jake loves to hike and he gets such a thrill out of it when I go with him, so, I figured I better do another great big hike BEFORE my toenails grow back. The hike up was fairly easy. On the way down....not so easy. Krissi and I don't have very good knees anymore and so we looked like little ol' ladies comin down that mountain. I'm so glad we had Krissi and Austin to laugh through the good and the bad times of that hike. I think we might do it again sometime.

On our hike we saw plenty of animals!

A doe and 2 fawns

Moose

Huge Bumble Bee

And......Mountain Goats....Sheep...

Things that say Baa! and make Dax scream at the top of his lungs Baa!

Someday I'm going to paint this picture

and maybe this one too

This is where we were headed

Could this boy BE anyMORE Cute!!!

Dax (fell asleep about 200 meters from the top, I'm kind of glad he did cuz if he was awake I know he would want to get out and run around and there really wasn't any room up there for that kind of activity)

We survived!
