I have to admit I feel like I need to be huge and pregnant as I sit here watching the opening ceremonies, since I WAS in exactly that situation a year and a half ago. I also have to admit I'm SO happy I'm not pregnant right now. I love the Olympics and its starting to have a special place in my heart. I went to Greece for my senior trip because the Olympics were going to be in Athens the same year. I watched the Olympics as I was in labor and pushing my baby out. Dax was going to be Michael Phelps Christiansen(jk) because he was born the day Michael won is 8th medal.
The Olympics make me swell with pride for my country as well as compassion and love for the whole world.
I've never been to Vancouver, but after watching I definitely have to go. As Dax and I watched, Jake was off on a Klondike campout with the Scouts. He's not in the scouts but has fervently made it known to the Scout Leaders that he will go on a camping trip anytime. They finally took him up on the offer. They built snow caves and slept inside of them. Jake had a absolute blast and can't wait to do something like it again.
